About the Tests

In 2007-2008 Georgia administered the Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests (CRCT) in reading, English language arts and math in grades 1 through 8, in science in grades 3 through 8, and in social studies in grades 3 through 5 and 8.
The CRCT is a standards-based assessment, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Georgia.
The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.

About the Tests

In 2007-2008 Georgia administered the Georgia High School Graduation Test (GHSGT) in English language arts, math, science and social studies to students in grade 11.
The GHSGT is a standards-based assessment, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined by the state of Georgia.
Students must pass all parts of the GHSGT in order to graduate from high school.
The goal is for all students to pass the test.

ACT scores range from a low of 1 to a high of 36. The Composite score is an average of the English, math, reading and science scores.
